FAQ & Troubleshooting
Answers to common questions and solutions for typical issues.
General Questions
What is SizeMind?
SizeMind is a Shopify app that helps your customers find their perfect size. Customers enter their body measurements and receive personalized size recommendations based on your product's size charts.
How accurate are the recommendations?
Accuracy depends on your size chart data. With good data, SizeMind achieves 70-85% match rates (customers buying the recommended size). The algorithm accounts for measurement ranges and fit preferences to give optimal suggestions.
Does SizeMind use AI?
SizeMind uses a measurement-based algorithm, not AI/ML. This means recommendations are deterministic and based purely on how customer measurements compare to your size chart ranges. The algorithm is predictable and transparent.
What languages are supported?
The widget supports 5 languages:
- English
- Spanish
- German
- Serbian
- Croatian

Is customer data secure?
Yes. Customer measurements are stored locally in their browser (localStorage). We only store anonymous analytics data on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Setup & Installation
Widget not showing on product pages
Check these common causes:
- Missing product mapping: The product needs a size chart mapping. Go to Mappings and ensure the product's type, tag, or collection is connected to a chart.
- Wrong template: In Theme Editor, make sure you're editing the correct product template. Some themes have multiple templates.
- App block not added: Add the "SizeMind Size Recommender" block to your product template in Theme Editor.
- App embed disabled: Go to Theme Editor → App embeds and ensure SizeMind is toggled on.
- Browser cache: Try a hard refresh (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R).
Can I use SizeMind with a vintage (non-OS 2.0) theme?
SizeMind is built for Online Store 2.0 themes. For older themes, contact support – we may be able to provide manual integration code.
How do I add the widget to multiple product templates?
Repeat the setup process for each template:
- Open Theme Editor
- Select the template from the dropdown
- Add the SizeMind block
- Save
Size Charts
What's the difference between body and garment measurements?
- Body measurements: Customer's actual body dimensions. "Size M fits chest 92-98cm" means a person with that chest size should choose M.
- Garment measurements: The actual dimensions of the clothing item. "Size M chest is 50cm" means the garment itself measures 50cm across.
Most brands use body measurements. If your supplier provides garment measurements, SizeMind automatically adds ease to recommendations.
Should I use ranges or single values?
Ranges are recommended. They provide better recommendations:
- Allow catching customers between sizes
- Enable alternative size suggestions
- Better handle measurement uncertainty
Example: Instead of "M chest = 95cm", use "M chest = 92-98cm".
My imported chart has wrong values
HTML import works best with simple tables. If values are wrong:
- Delete the imported entries
- Try copying a smaller portion of the table
- Or enter values manually
- Use CSV import for large charts
Can I copy a size chart?
Not currently. Create a new chart and manually enter the values, or export/import via CSV.
Recommendations
Customers getting wrong size recommendations
Check your size chart data:
- Use the "Test Your Chart" feature to simulate recommendations
- Verify measurement ranges are correct
- Check if ranges overlap properly between sizes
- Ensure measurement type (body vs garment) is correct
- Review the sizing strategy for your garment type
Why is confidence low on some recommendations?
Low confidence (below 70%) typically means:
- Customer measurements are at the edge of a size range
- Customer is between sizes
- Some measurements fit one size, others fit another
This is expected and helps customers make informed decisions.
"Between sizes" appears too often
Your size ranges may have too much overlap. Review and tighten the ranges where sizes meet. Typical overlap should be 2-4cm.
Analytics
Analytics show zero data
Check these requirements:
- Analytics requires Starter plan or higher
- Data starts collecting from plan activation
- Allow 24-48 hours for initial data
- Ensure the widget is live and being used
Purchases not tracking
SizeMind tracks purchases via webhooks. If missing:
- Check if the customer used SizeMind before purchasing
- Webhook delivery can be delayed
- Contact support if persistent
Size match rate seems wrong
The match rate compares purchased size to recommended size. Factors:
- Customers may buy different size intentionally (gifts, etc.)
- Some may buy multiple sizes
- Rate is most meaningful with high volume
Billing
I was charged but features aren't working
- Refresh the SizeMind app
- Log out and back into Shopify
- Check the Billing page shows correct plan
- Contact support if issue persists
How do I cancel?
Go to Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels → SizeMind → Cancel subscription. You'll be moved to the Free plan.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reinstall. After 30 days, it's permanently deleted per GDPR requirements.
Collection Badges
Badges not showing on collection pages
Collection badges require three things:
- Professional plan: Badges are a Professional-only feature. Check your plan in SizeMind → Billing.
- Saved measurements: The customer must have entered measurements in the widget at least once. Badges use locally saved data — they won't appear for first-time visitors.
- Product mappings: Each product needs a size chart mapping. Products without a mapping won't show a badge.
What's the difference between Collection Badges and Global Badges?
Collection Badges are for collection pages (e.g., /collections/dresses). Global Badges work on any page — homepage featured products, related products sections, recently viewed, etc. Both use the same logic and settings.
Can badges show for customers who haven't entered measurements?
No. Badges require saved measurements. This is intentional — showing a generic "Find your size" badge on every product would be distracting. Badges are a reward for customers who engage with the size finder.
Measurement Breakdown
What does the measurement breakdown show?
When your measurements span different sizes, the breakdown explains how the algorithm chose the recommended size. Each measurement is shown with a color-coded status:
- Green (✓) — your measurement fits within the recommended size's range
- Amber (↕) — your measurement is below the range; the engine sized up to accommodate other measurements
- Red (↑) — your measurement is above the range
Why don't I see the breakdown?
The breakdown only appears when measurements don't all fit into one size perfectly. If all your measurements match the recommended size, you'll see "matches all your measurements perfectly" instead — no breakdown needed.
